"Actor Jerry Doyle, best known for his role in the sci-fi series Babylon 5, has died at the age of 60. Doyle appeared in all five series of the 1990s show as Chief Warrant Officer Michael Garibaldi. He also made guest appearances on other popular shows, such as Beverly Hills 90210, NYPD Blue and Martial Law, and was the host of a nationally-syndicated daily radio show in the US.
A spokesman for Doyle's family said the cause of his death was not yet known. Fellow Babylon 5 actor Bruce Boxleitner tweeted that he was "so devastated at the news of the untimely death of my good friend", while astronaut Scott Kelly said the news was "very sad to hear". link

Sad to hears this. I also liked him in B5. It's also just a little scary to read about someone you know who is just a little younger than you dying. |

Jerry had his struggles in life, but it seems to me that he was doing quite well for himself. I was a little wary of following his news page, Epic Times, because you don't want to find out that your childhood heroes are… Jerks. I was very impressed by his reporting of the news. He was the most balanced journalist that I followed, which says quite a bit in an age where opinion is presented as fact. I'll miss Jerry Doyle. |

Very sad to hear this too. Babylon5 was a fantastic show, and Jerry Doyle was a great actor. He will be greatly missed. |

I'm really sad to hear this -- I always enjoyed him as an actor and as a pundit and journalist. RIP Mr. Doyle…but I must say, and I think he'd find this humorous and he had a powerful sense of humor, I have this strong urge to hoist tall a glass of whisky in his honor and say, "You will be sorely missed, Mr. Garibaldi" in my poor man's Londo imitation… |

Even though its been a year 'this week', I still think of that series and the Great characters. Jerry Doyle, (Garibaldi) by far one of 'the' best.
