Howdy folks, I recently finished a trio of Hasslefree figs…I truly enjoy these miniatures and can only hope I do justice to these models.
link As always, comments and advice are welcome. Cheers. |

I hate to spoil your post but the Mel character is from Studio Miniatures. I really like Elvis in the red as all the painted versions I've seen have been painted in white (including my own). |

Thanks for the views and comments folks. @Terrement, unfortunately the pics came out less 'fleshy' than I would have liked…thanks. @D A THB, thanks for the keen eye…I have to admit I could have sworn I picked them up from HF. At least my google search showed a few others who thought Mel was a HF product. Now I just have to figure out where Mel came from and how he joined my HF bin, lol. Bubba took some considerable thought as there were some great colours to choose…I'm not very good at painting white…it never comes out smooth enough. Thanks. |

Those minis are off to a great start. I'd recommend applying a flesh wash to the flesh tones and a brown or black wash to the rest to bring out the details. I prefer a brown wash myself most of the time. If you're not familiar with washes, don't panic when you first apply it. It will look like you've ruined your paint job, but the thin wash will run off and once it dries it will only remain in the recesses and will really bring out the details. |

Thanks for the tips, I'm pretty happy with the results. As far as washes go, I'm a big fan of army painter washes especially the strong and dark wash. I made the move to army painter after GW made their last set of changes to their washes a few years back. Thanks for the views and the advice. Cheers. |
