Lets face it, the whole point of building terrain is to have an attractive table to play on. To finish my series on cheap gaming mats I put together a table with my newly built roads, hills and my refurbished trees, along with some pretty buildings that I had acquired at a local Con.

I think it turned out rather nice (but I may have a bit of prejudice in that regard) link

As always, comments, ideas, suggestions or threats are more than welcome

John!

You repeatedly invite "threats" as well as comments.

Well, after just reading and viewing your game on the new terrain, I can finally make one.

If I see anything better from you, I'm going to break down and cry with pathetic envy.

So There!

Anton – Great looking terrain. I picked up one of those rugs yesterday so we'll see if I can come anywhere close to what you have done.

JJ – Your idea has merit. It should look stunning.

Looks really great!

Thanks for sharing your pics.

I agree Terrement. That does seem to be the way to go for urban streets.

Terrement,

I would get a slab of drywall and paint it with blackboard paint to give it a textured surface. This would be asphalt (or if you use a grey paint concrete) area to place the buildings based with an integral "block" of sidewalk and curb on top of. It would be infinitely (almost) re-configurable. If you could still find it a roll of old-style linoleum might do the trick as well.

My 20mm buildings are based with the sidewalk and one-half of the street in front, a system that didn't work as well as it seemed it would as there is always an odd corner that needs to be fiddled with.

Thanks everybody for the kind words and encouragement :)

Anybody in Canada had success finding these mats? Neither Lowes and Home Depot locally have them, and I can't find them on their online listings either.
