"Anyone who has ever seen The Exorcist, William Friedkin‘s classic tale of a possessed daughter and the priests who attempt to save her from the grip of Beelzebub, was probably not particularly keen on a TV series based on the story. As with this year's not-so-sufferable Damien, an attempt to turn The Omen into a TV series, there are some things that are simply adverse to expansion, and The Exorcist would almost certainly qualify for that. That being said, I don't think anyone was expecting the level of lunacy that seems to be on hand in the first trailer for the TV series, which looks to run off in several different directions in the narrative and replaces Ellen Burstyn with Geena Davis. I'm not going to attempt to summarize exactly what is going on here, but you should take a look for yourself below.
