…I don't mean the new Netflix show.

I mean when crazy things happen in the middle of your RPG. I've started running a DnD 5E campaign for son and some of my oldest nephews (12-19) and my friend (30). They came up on a fire elemental the other day who couldn't be damaged by normal weapons…

The Rogue (my 19 yr old nephew) says "I throw my canteen of water at it".

Ok. So I'm thinking, how do I play this? So I say, "Roll to hit"!

Nat 20.

The kid rolls for triple damage on the crit chart. Winds up dealing about 18 damage to the fire elemental…with a canteen.

Ahhhh, the surprises…

And that's the fun of it!

Innovations should not go unrewarded.
It seems that the Dice Gods approved in this case.
