Took the Romans to the mat only once (the first game) and were blown out the other two. Do you think the Lusitanian army could win on a regular basis or is it sort of a "broken" army? |

"Broken army"? I would not class the Lusitanian a broken army. They have a number of advantages the Romans do not have: * All foot troops fight and move well in difficult terrain. * Ps can double move to difficult ground. * Hilly terrain placement can constrain Roman deployment. * The one LH can make a big difference at the right moment. In a competition game, destroying Roman auxilia (3/4Ax) and skirmishers (Ps) will win you the game; you need not even engage the heavy stuff. Having said that, to use the Lusitanian well you do need a good dose of patience as they should not be used in the same manner as the Gallic or Celtiberian. The last two games, Roman combat dice throws were unbelievable. Two blade were completely surrounded and both scored enough to send all their enemy recoiling. |
