Hello just wondering if anyone knows if there is a company that plans to make or currently makes a Japanese soldier armed with a Type 100 submachine gun in 15mm. Thanks

The only one I know of is in one of the Skytrex / Old Glory infantry packs:

Sorry, those are 28mm, my mistake

Darn, those would have been perfect! I've heard of the skytrex one, but I've also heard it's pretty bad. After seeing it, I'd have to agree.

Did they even use that sub? Mean to say, it was super rare, was'nt it?

I was thinking of the same question as John. Where would it appear? If it is common then PP could make a pack i am sure.

It was never common – the occasional officer and NCO in line units, and a bit broader issue in more "special forces" type outfits – less than 30,000 produced in total.

AS was written close to 30,000 were produced so while it's not super common it wasn't exactly the rarest weapon ever made. It was issued to SNLF, Paratroopers, and other special forces type units. I usually play WWW2 type skirmish games so I tend to go more on the "what if" side of things, so in that case sub machine guns could be even more common. 1/72 makes a ton of them now since Strelets released a Japanese Airborne set, but aside from the Japanese infantry representation I prefer 15mm. I'd also like to see some of the experimental tanks the Japanese were working on in 45' see the light of day (in any scale really) especially since anything the germans ever thought of has shown up in model form at somepoint or another.

Oh dear

Well scifi-esque scenarios aside both 1/72 and 28mm make quite a few options for type 100s so I see no reason as to why 15mm should be void of any.

Martin- What was the verdict on this idea then?

Apparently east riding miniatures makes a line of 15mm Japanese Paratroopers including some with SMG, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any pics on the site.
