link Well boys and girls that was a slog, getting through the neck end of 50 Destroyers (and Torpedo Boats for the pendants out there). However it has made a big dent in the number of ships needed to complete the project. 78% of the Germans and 64% of the British are done with a vast majority of my remaining ships "in da bungalow", just have 1 WTJ order to do. En avante ! Regards Ken The Yarkshire Gamer |

Nice work! I put mine on temporary bases to take up space and stretch my DDs to make up Flotillas. Worked pretty well for our game. |

WWI DDs had gray or black decks. You'll have to redo the lot… <ducks under desk> I feel your pain. It was a huge slog to get through just a few dozen of the little s before the centenary, and I left my decks gray and didn't base them. It's nice to see the progress. I can't wait to see the fleets in action. - Ix |

"Cortesine was a mid brown linoleum type decking used on small ships in areas where the crew required a good foot grip but timber would have been too heavy" From Mal Wright Works for me ! Right or wrong they won't be repainted 😊 Regards Ken |

Nice, lots of targets for those cruisers. Chris |

I've always thought corticene was a kind of brick red colour and that it was only laid in strips and around gun positions etc. It would be great if it was on the whole deck – it makes a nice contrast. Now – does anybody know what the practice was with Spanish destroyers of the civil war period? I'm thinking grey … |

Corticene was a mid brown linoleum the Germans used a similar version which was paler in colour. It was fitted along the deck to the torpedo tubes. I'm happy with my interpretation, it works for me. |

Right or wrong, the contrast of wood color decks against gray or black sides is easier to see and much nicer to look at. I painted one class of pre-war RN DDs that way myself, and I like them. The all-gray or all-black of my other DDs is actually pretty effective cammo, which is a good result in war, but not so good on a miniature gaming table. Sometimes a DD or two will get overlooked by accident for part of a battle. :-\ Our hobby walks a fine line between realism and platonic ideals…. - Ix |

I may be colour-blind, but the decks look yellow. |

jThey look just WONDERFUL, Yarkshire ! " -- – (and Torpedo Boats for the pendants out there)." We Pedants don't like to be called PeNdants. |

Brilliant chicklewis that made me smile, I really wanted someone to spot that after I missed my mistake when I first published the piece. My faith is restored. Regards Ken yarkshiregamer.blogspot.co.uk |

pedants/pendants: I thought you were being ironic. Ken. Either way, and whatever colour, good luck with the game. This year we just concentrated on part of the destroyer action during the Run to the South. |
