"A hidden chapter of British naval history goes on show in a £9.00 GBP million project at the Historic Dockyard Chatham.

Timbers from an 18th Century warship HMS Namur form the centrepiece of the new permanent display – Command Of The Oceans.

The timbers were discovered underneath the wheelwright's shop where they had lain for two centuries.

The new galleries also document the dozens of trades carried out by the 2,500 workers during the dockyard's heyday…"
