I thought it might be a good idea for traders to share what they think is the best web shop for their business. Mine is custom made. Basically I wanted a system where people could choose what they wanted and then pay (PayPal) without having to register to use the site. |

Not a trader, but a punter, but what you've described is what I like to find. I don't want to have to remember a myriad of passwords for the different traders' sites I use. PayPal sells its service on its simplicity, but having to register takes all of this away. I can imagine why a trader may wish to obtain all this detail, but I always find it annoying. It's interesting that you had to have a specially made system to achieve this – if others are using off-the-shelf systems, it explains why we so often encounter the opposite. In reality, I have to request a password reminder virtually every time I buy something – just one more hurdle on the way to a purchase. |

Justin I use romancart.com. No account just standard buttons inserted into the web pages. Even the basic level offers a decent amount of flexibility and features. The more expensive levels do stock control and allow very simple code links. Hi, in this day and age unless you want life complicated I can't see why anyone would not use a free CMS with build in e-commerce module. There are lots about – Joomla , Magneto , Zen Cart, Drupal… All free all good Most decent ISPs have an scripting installing tool. You can install any of these in 10 minutes. The configuration and set up may take longer. But that is all config via a GUI. There is no reason a lay man should be poking around HTML,PHP, ASP etc. Simon |

I use woocommerce on Wordpress for Blackhat and Imperial Miniatures sites. It also has the big advantage of automatically posting invoices for each order into my accounts package. Mike |

I use (and love) osCommerce. They have a new mod so you can shop without an account that I need to add. Very robust. |
