Anyone able to fill in which of the IABSM books have been updated to 3rd edition?

Rich is on TMP so, he'll be able to let you know

I asked this same question a while back and what I recall was Rich saying Vpered Na Berlin and Battle for Liberation had been updated, while the early war stuff (Blitzkrieg and Footsteps of Legion) and the Eastern supplement (Shadow of the Rising Sun) had not been updated yet. That said, I own Blitzkrieg and Shadow and I see no reason to believe that they aren't fully compatible with IABSM v3. I think vehicle stats may have been tweaked slightly to make tanks more deadly in the third edition (not positive about that, just going from memory) but if you stay within one setting then I think you should be just fine.

Good call.
I recall seeing something online about increasing gun scores by 1 point across the board in general.

Achtung is correct that only the two he listed have been updated. The older ones are still useable with the new V3 rules with the update notes that are online.

Here is a link to it. I think it is also available as a pdf.

Smart work finding that conversion guideline! Ah I had forgotten leader and morale "levels" in v3. This was an idea cribbed from TW&T, wasn't it? It's interesting to think of TW&T like a beta test version of third edition. Man, that article made me miss Gotterdammerung—that was truly an excellent supplement. Does anyone know if all the TO&Es from that one were brouht into the new late war supplements? I remember a pretty neat orbat for German light infantry, if I recall correctly.

I don't know if everything was updated from the V2 to the V3, there is a bootload of new material in V3 though.

So is third edition a huge change then?

I had an old book (original edition I think) but I've been wanting to get back into the system again.

Weasel04 Jul 2016 2:24 p.m. PST

Nevermind actually, I said BEEP it and bought the new book.

Much much clearer than the old one, for sure. If you've been interested in the game but the unclear rules kept you away, go grab this one for sure.

Never did find the PDF. Did find some other cool downloads though.

Thanks,

John

When was the 3rd edition piblished ? Does it actually say V3 on the cover ?

Dynaman878905 Jul 2016 10:02 a.m. PST

It does not say V3 on the cover, here is a picture.

Published a few years ago. Around 2011

Weasel05 Jul 2016 11:23 a.m. PST

That's the one. They have it in print and PDF versions, though for this one, honestly after a read or two, all you need is to print the firing table.

parrskool05 Jul 2016 11:29 a.m. PST

Ta. Mine says 2011 as well.

Achtung Minen05 Jul 2016 4:54 p.m. PST

I have that one! Got the iPad version and love it!
