I finished my Norman project well in advance of the Lone Star Historical Miniatures (LSHM) November convention and the Texas SAGA Championship tournament. This will give me plenty of time to test and practice with this force:

picture

The tournament is a 6 point event, put on by LSHM at their annual war-game convention MillenniumCon held in Austin Texas 11-13 November 2016.

My 6 point army will consist of:

1 x mounted Warlord 0pts
1 x mounted Warrior Priest 1pt
5 x mounted Warriors (8 each) 5pts

I plan to form my warriors into 4 groups of 10 mounted warriors.

I will form 2 groups each with a leader (Priest and Warlord) and 2 units of 10 mounted warriors.

Looks like some Old Glory figures. Nice job.

My Norman army has archers and crossbowmen, you may find that you will need some long range units.
Very nicely painted and they look spectacular, but against arrows and bolts they may not get in to give the final blow.

Your SAGA army looks great. Nice bases. Thick and easy to pick up. Let us know how you get on with your devious plans for conquest.

Yes, do let us know how you fare with them--I'm quite curious.

Skip – When I got my free packs of OG figs from Russ I got 1 pack too many of Normans, so now I am painting them for sale, I used the Perry horses from before, already have all the horses done and 1/2 of the riders, plan to have the rest done this week.

I now have Normans, Saracens and Moors.

I do like the fast moving, hard hitting armies. tough to hold terrain or sit back against shooters though. The games are fast and furious!! I'll test them out in the next couple of weeks and post some results.

thanks for all the comments!! Figures are a mix of Old Glory and Perry.

Beautiful bases, Charlie. Glad to see I am rubbing off on you. LOL.

I'll be making a few batches of tufts for you this weekend.
