I call 'Fun!'

Doug

PS Z: Thanks for the tip on the Gimoka; alas, the coffee pods I saw on Amazon weren't nearly as kewl as your 'engine nozzles.' Other hand, I'm not sure I'd buy a coffee maker JUST to get them. ;->=

Those are really nice

zrunelord03 Jul 2016 1:05 p.m. PST

Thanks all,glad you like them.

I was thinking about a scenario where a prospector / science team is chased by Alien creatures & has to drive through rough terrain to get to safety. These vehicles remind me of the one used by Newt's parents on LV421 in Aliens ( the extended version)

You're welcome Doug … Off course it's not worth getting a coffee maker just to get those pods.( and it's much better to make coffee with a Lavazza type percolator :):):) )

Try here … & other nicely shaped pods.

Damn your eyes! ;->=

Haven't dug mine out in years; now I've the itch.

Of course, I'm a philistine: the right coffee, ground fresh, in a Mr. Coffee gets you through the day.

remind me of the one used by Newt's parents on LV421 in Aliens

Oh, I was all about seeing that in those. After shaking the image of the one dingus from an old Poirot episode.

*ahem* Tomorrow is here.

And here it is Part 3.
castrarunis.blogspot.com.mt/2016/07/scratchbuilt-lander-mark-2-part-3.html

You're a slave driver Beast … :):):)

Ha ha you got the itch for the smell of a brew of freshly ground coffee … ah the simple things in life are most often the best .. and the percolator has to be used not shiny new , in fact the more stained the better. You should never ever wash it with soap just rinse it with water & let it drip dry.

Enjoy & may you always have a cup of your favourite brew whilst you're enjoying your hobby. Mine is Tetley Strong tea ( imho one of the best things we got from the British) with carton milk & no sugar. In fact I'm off to make one.I just remembered it's not the first time I put my paint brush in my tea cup!!!!

Enjoy.

Just finished.

The ATV is now complete with a trailer. Main body is an HP Inkjet ink cartridge.
Pics are in the beginning.

Man, your conversion and scratchbuilding work just keeps getting better.

zrunelord24 Aug 2016 2:15 p.m. PST

Thanks Fritadas glad you like it, :):):)
The trick is to try & try & try & try …
did I say try enough ?

As you can see the trailer is basically an empty HP cartridge, wheels made from a press mould using a marker cap , wound wire springs , plastic kit sprues & mostly card ( the copper bits can be easily replaced with sprue )

Your tools are your friend , for e.g when you buy a flat nose plier choose one which has nice thin grooves on the flat side of the jaws. These can be used to press grills on card. Simple yes but very effective. Specialised pliers like a Mole grip will make a deeper impression since they have a stronger press.

Any kind of metal tool will leave its impression on card.A clutch pencil – rivets , a Nail – square pyramidical holes , a flan cutter – wavy lines , a craft scissors – ork plate cut with a cutter burner , a flat screw driver – rectangular slots… etc etc…..

I will post more stuff soon.

As always may you be inspired
