Just wanted to share some pictures from our Punic War Campaign game at the Liberty Hobby Center last Saturday.

We had 12 players try the new Triumph rules and play through the Gulf of the Lion Campaign planned for Historicon Saturday Event number S355.

The event was a blast to run and I really appreciate the Chicago guys once again letting me use them again for a test run before Historicon. They also helped play test the 25/28mm Crusade battle.

Map initial setup

Some action shots from the various battles…

In the end Carthage Orospeda (Hannibal) won the event by making Rome and the other Carthaginian generals his vassal states and becoming master of the Mediterranean. The Gallic rebellion was also successful in the North with many burgeoning Gallic empires on the rise, but nothing could match the growing power of Carthage.

Hannibal overseeing his empire, notice all the countries marked in green (many people don't realize that Hannibal's eye patch was mistranslated from the original Carthaginian word for wrist brace)

Final score.

Thanks again to Bill for hosting!

Everyone had a ton of fun. Thanks for running this Rod.

We will be playing this again at Liberty once we get the armies together to do it (we are close.)

Also, Thistle & Rose Miniatures will be supporting the new Triumph! rules system with Participation Packs of figures (Gauls and hordes) for everyone who plays in the games and a concluding Gallic Triumph! Army for the winner of the Punic Wars Campaign.

Rod,

Thanks for running this. You did a great job. The campaign system will work well with any rule system.

My pleasure Dave, and yes it is really a great campaign system which can be easily used for almost any rule set..,

Dave,

You are right. On Monday we talked about using the system for a Lion Rampant campaign.

And congrats on finishing second in the tournament.

Looks great. I am looking forward to giving it a try at Historicon. The basing convention looks like something I can get into with a minimum of alterations to my existing armies.

Here are some sample pictures of the beautiful Thistle and Rose figures donated by Bill for the convention.

We will be handing out sample packs of these figures at the Triumph events all weekend. The Medieval Horde packs are really cool too!

The winner of the Gallic Campaign game will get a complete Thistle and Rose Gallic Triumph army (unpainted).

As a painter I really enjoyed the level of detail and variety of poses.
