We fought both the Second and Third Battles of Plevna. It was an epic day. Two wins for the Russians! Full AAR here: link Chris Bloody Big BATTLES! link |

The strange joy of a scenario designer : enjoying a defeat because it validates the scenario. |

It was certainly an excellent game, and not just because I won. :-) Both scenarios (aided massively by Chris' excellent rules) allowed for a range of key decisions, without getting bogged down in rules mechanics. The plans for the attacks on the Grivitza redoubts in (in both battles) were informed by a painful experience at the Oxford Wargames Club on Monday night where as soon as we started the scenario I realized the plan (all mine) was going to fail. I had not taken into account (sufficiently) the more modern technology of the Balkan Wars; we were re-fighting Kirkillise. |

Haha! Bravo to Dr.Murray and his fellow generals. That said, Chris you really broke all bad luck losing the guns at Grivitza in 2nd Pleven. I have never seen it die. Good show! Good show indeed! |
