Winston Smith once said:

I will say that Army Lists are very relaxing books to skim while sitting in the smallest room in the house…

Do you agree?

Winston Smith29 Jun 2016 3:55 p.m. PST

I certainly agree with that.

The problem with this is that the more often you read them in the smallest room in the house, the shorter they get.

I cannot imagine anything more tedious.

Army lists? Really? Well, I guess they don't print phone books any more.

No, he has it all wrong. That room is for periodicals. The bedside is for army lists.

I do enjoy reading Army Lists. For pleasure. Really stokes the imagination.

The biggest problem is discovering a fascinating sounding obscure army and then finding out no Bleeped text does miniatures to fill all the ranks. Or the hassle of ordering them from Aus (Hawaiians? Yes please)

When Winston Smith reads army lists in the smallest room, does he use the pages for, um, y'know? Seem a bit expensive.

I already read army lists in my miniature storage room.

wrgmr130 Jun 2016 3:26 p.m. PST

That's where I read my Wargames Soldiers and Strategy magazine.
On occasion army lists….
