Gamecraft Miniatures makes some for 1/285 gaming.

HyGround make plastic hex tiles

There is a kickstarter for TerraTiles but they are 2D.

any comments on the GHQ hex terrain?

GHQ hex terrain is simply precision cut insulation, may even be the crumbly white stuff.

Thanks Dynaman

Looking at what is out there and the price, I think I might try and make my own :)

I cannot recommend Kallistra highly enough.

Expensive, yes, but one of the most used (and useful) sets of wargaming stuff I've ever bought. High quality, durable and looks great.

If you are going to do your own look for foam cake dummies like these: link

6 inch across 3 inches thick for $1.80 USD With the right hot wire foam cutter you should be able to get at least 1/2 inch thick slices.

Here are some I made back in the day.
