The newest incarnation of M.A. Barker's Empire of the Petal Throne rules is out now. They are published by Guardians of Order, and I must say I am impressed. I have been reading Barker's stuff for years and own every incarnation of the game. Guardians of Order has definatley produced the best. The rules are very simple to understand, and the mechanincs of the game are easy enough for begginers. The aspect of the game I like the best is the fact that you can build every aspect of your character from the ground up- his stats, advantages and dissadvantages, equipment and even some of his magic items.
The game is written so that those new to the world of Tekumel can begin to get the rich flavor of M.A. Barker's alien world and civilization from the get go. i cant say enough about this great game. Please check it out!

Man, I haven't heard that name in forever! Didn't EotPT come out about the same time Traveller did?

Do the mechanics follow the flavor of the original game? One thing I remember about Petal Throne is that the mechanics were very straight-forward and easy to follow. Now you've got me thinking about looking up this new release... like I need another rule set flopping about my hobby room...

Are these the RPG rules, or the miniatures rules?

RPG - hence RPG message board (or did you move it?)

When will we be playing? :-)

Agreed, it looks very nice, and it's always a pleasure to see more Barker stuff in print.

Kind of wish we'd get a new generation of minis sculpts while we're at it, but I'm not holding my breath onb that one. :(

The Tekumel.com site was recently redone and there is a lot of Tekumel stuff at DrivethruRPG (.com, IIRC)

Interesting, some of those minis listed over on Tita's site are unfamiliar to me. Maybe they *are* doing new stuff?

And what the heck is "The Great Chlen Race" at a whopping $1.00?

Eureka has the new "first" release… so there is a Tekumel revivial indeed!
