I used Aventine Sassanid spearmen with Roman shields to make up some Eastern Auxilia units for my Middle Imperial Roman army.

Nicely done – idea would work for other armies as well. Using a thureos could be Palymran, pre-Islamic Arab or even Parthian militia. Such good figures, I was even thinking with bare heads they could be hill tribesmen for earlier armies. Always on the look out for another unit for my Pontics. Thanks |
