I have a handful of packs of the Peter Pig AK47 range Israelis, the GALIL armed infantry with support and command. What period are these most suitable for? I am thinking the Lebanon conflict in 1982, but can they be used as early as the '73 war? And how late could they be used?

Once that question is answered, what is the Israeli fire-team/squad/platoon make up for the period they represent?

Darryl,

The Galil wasn't in service by Yom Kippur, but it was in wide usage for Lebanon in 1982, and mostly phased out by 2000.

I just bought some of these myself! And can't really help on the T/OE questions, that's always been quite a bit of mystery.

V/R,
Jack

As Jack stated, they are definitely squarely aimed at '82. For Yom Kippur or Ultra-Modern Khurasan makes both.

There are two sites I reference for platoon make up.

Thank you for the rapid replies! Those are a couple of good resources as well.

Looks like I can do a few rifle squads/sections with the mix I have. I do not have any 52mm mortars nor Dragon ATGW for the platoon HQ (PP doesn't make them anyway) but perhaps a few M113s are in order. I do not have Syrians, but I do have Arabs in a variety of dress for para-military and/or local militia types. And as the Israelis do not wear camo, they should be a quick paint.

Thanks, all!

The Peter Pig M113 Zeldas are really nice. I just posted a couple i have painted up over on my blog if you want a look. All my infantry are Peter Pig too.

IMHO, one of Peter Pig's best groups of figures. Too bad the PLO aren't the same quality.

I think there was a Lebanon supplement or afdin to AK47

Weasel26 Jun 2016 6:34 p.m. PST

AK47 (the original version) did cover Lebanon in the one supplement it had, among a bunch of other topics.
