Last night we began our Battle of Aussig 1757. The Prussians are outnumbered 3:2 and the Austrians are being aggressive.

Of course, there never was (to my knowledge) a SYW battle of Aussig. This is a battle generated in our campaign of Prussia's invasion of Bohemia in 1757 using 'Bohemian Blitzkrieg' by Todd Kershner and Dale Wood (of AGE OF REASON rules).

We try to fight at least one campaign a year because there is nothing like a campaign for making players husband their forces rather than treat them like disposable items on a butchers bill: A campaign, simply, makes players play differently.

Anyway, the first battle of this campaign was started last night. A pic heavy report can be found here: link

Anyway, I hope you like what we are doing.

Well, that looks like a fantastic game.

Looks great as usual.

I agree with your comments about how wargamers are much more careful in campaigns. Even though by the final game it tends to be an all-in brawl.
