Hello, all,

Continuing on in the saga of repurposing figures for Danes of the Schlewsig Holstein Wars (emphasis on the 1st), here is my latest. I'm not the first one to use these figs as Danish Dragoons, I might add, but for the record, here is my take.

I choose to go with the red-coated Danish Dragoon uniform from the 1st S-H war…

I used the Northstar 1864 Austrian Dragoons.

By way of conversion, I clipped off the signature Austrian forage roll on the right side of the saddle (which you can't see in the image). I clipped off the cup (or whatever it is) that was sitting on the saddle roll on the back, and I shaved down the Austrian eagle on the helmet crest so that I could free hand a shape on the front of the helmet more in line with the Danish design. There wasn't much else I could do with the horse furniture, so I simply left the blanket roll on the front plain rather than painting in straps to give a better impression of the Danish saddle. Here is the result:
