What is the correct colour for a Pershing in Germany 1945? Is it the usual US Olive Drab, or the late war Dark Green. I would think the latter, but most models I've seen are in the regular OD. Some help, please? |

As far as I know all the WW2 Pershings were painted Olive Drab Green. |

Like Bashy stated the Pershing would be the standard Olive Drab or in my case Vallejo 887 Brown Violet. Then a good ink wash in brown or black depending on your preference followed by dry brushing and highlighting the Brown Violet. Plus a few other tricks and tips and there you go. Actually you cannot go wrong with either paint scheme but so few Pershings made it to Europe before the war was over that my thinking would be that they would be the Olive Drab. I could be wrong but again do not think it matters too much. |

Thanks for the advice. Olive Drab it is, then! |

I don't think I have ever heard of any late war US Army armor being painted in Dark Green. It was always Olive Drab, from the '20s IIRC all the way up to the introduction of camo schemes in the '70s. Damon. |

There was a change basically from olive drab to olive green (greenish brown to more of a green) in the mid-50's. |
