I painted my first army for L'Art de la Guerre using the excellent Forged in Battle figures. Pontics are the Swiss army knife of 88 BC. Pictures of the rest of the blades, er, options are up on my blog. It does look like it'll be a fun one to run!

Nice looking Pontic army, mine are 28mm and I was wondering about some peltast types (for Hail Caesar) – pilum fodder! Phalangites with purple pants – how 'Pontic'.

Impressed with what you can achieve in such a short time.

Nice figures and a super paint job. Looking forward to getting mine from their 2nd kickstarter.

Agreed. Bought some of their artillery and was sold with them ever since. Placed a large order with their 2nd Kickstarter and think I'm gonna go with Saxons. Beautiful figures, super excited.

nice work. How long did it take you to paint it?

TwinCities Gamer15 Jun 2016 5:33 p.m. PST

Thanks fellows, I appreciate the feedback!

Mithridates, my goal is to do ancients in 28mm one day. The Pontics would look great in 28mm!

Repaint, I have a method of painting 15mm that's fast. The keys are prime brown, basecoating, a heavy wash with Vallejo's Sepia wash with highlights over that and dark shadows left intact. I painted this in just under 2 weeks, working nights and weekends.
