Very nicely presented. You have got the 1914 organisation wrong though – the MG company is at regimental and not Bn level. The organisation you give is for 1917 onwards. |

thanks Gildas. but for the rest is it ok? |

The only other comment is that attacks in WW1 were not delivered in close order formations, even from the beginning of the war. German MG sections were detached from the regimental company on many occasions in 1914, linking with battalions as required. Robert |

Most sources don't show the breakdown into 'squads' as a battlefield organisation before late '16, they are messing and admin elements initially with the smallest battlefield element being the Platoon or half platoon. I don't doubt that resourceful German Bn commanders would have used their more reliable sergeants when it was necessary to break into smaller elements before it was 'officially' sanctioned though. Monk : The MG company may be split and a MG platoon attached to each Bn but not usually the whole MG Comp. There were still only 6MG per Regt. I'd agree that you'd be far more likely to see an advance in a series of open order lines but British & French observers did report Germans advancing in open columns while under artillery fire. |

I have sometimes wondered if I'd get more projects finished if I used paper soldiers instead of metal ones. |

Jeighef… the answer is absoloutly YES! you print them and you trim'em. It's done all in colour! |

I draw and trim them by myself.. actually I don't sell them |

You should consider selling them… |
paperbattles | 24 Jun 2016 3:14 p.m. PST |
thanks but I don't think they would have a big market and the price I had to apply would be too elevated (about 25/27 euro for 200 papersoldiers already cut) |

Maybe just sell the pdf file and let people print and cut them themselves??? They are beautiful. |
