When is the right time to attach the rider to the horse?

* before priming
* after painting
* after basing and flocking
etc.

Before priming (if you prime) …

I often prime and paint them separately, then glue them after they are painted.

Not before the third date.

Extra Crispy for the win.

Extra Crispy +1.

Extra Crispy does it again! LMAO!

I prime and paint the rider separately and attach to horse after I've "magic" washed both figures. I use a hobby knife to scrape off the paint at the area where I'll be gluing them together to get a good bond. After attaching them I do my Dullcote spraying.

Before undercoating – pin and glue, paint as a single entity.

After painting. May not be the best but that is how I roll.

Saxondog30 Nov 2016 11:04 a.m. PST

All of the above. I put the rider on the horse, spray prime, paint rider, remove rider, paint horse (leaving the spot where the rider was glued unpainted), glue rider to unpainted spot.
