All Quiet on the Martian Front is now officially the property of the new Ironclad Games. link |
Mr Elmo | 10 Jun 2016 4:11 a.m. PST |
Ooh, they should have a Kickstarter! |
TriOpticon | 10 Jun 2016 4:22 a.m. PST |
Is that the same Ironclad that develops PC games? |
Mute Bystander | 10 Jun 2016 4:59 a.m. PST |
Apparently it is in Saint Louis! |
ScottWashburn | 10 Jun 2016 5:13 a.m. PST |
Ironclad Games is new. They are owned by the same guy who owns Miniature Market. |

That's good news, funny enough I've just started going thru my vast AQMF collection to see what else I need and what I should part. I came across some Armoured personnel tanks and they are great. I can't wait to see what the new owners do with the range. Thanks for shareing |

Not. Great to hear the line will continue! |

Sweet! Miniature Market is excellent to deal with, so I'm optimistic about this deal. |
kallman | 10 Jun 2016 9:31 a.m. PST |
Well they have a pretty good track record so this should be a win/win. |

AWWWW! I feel so bad for those folks who bid up the price on AQMF items to 4 or 5 times the original cost. When will I be able to buy some of the tripods/drones? |
ScottWashburn | 10 Jun 2016 12:16 p.m. PST |
I talked with the owner the other night and they are hoping to have some items for sale by this fall. But that was just a WAG. |

Ah! Used my Google fu and found the answer. Nice one Scott. Oh and for those also curious WAG can mean Wild A$$ Guess. |

Now you just need a decent rules system. I took one look at the rule book and tossed it on the shelf in disgust. |
ScottWashburn | 10 Jun 2016 5:37 p.m. PST |
If you tried playing the rules you would find that they are actually pretty good. A few things need some tweaking, but they are quick to learn and fun to play. I think the complete lack of support by Robot Peanut Studio was the biggest problem. Hopefully Ironclad Games will do a better job. |

As an All Quiet backer and St. Louis native, this is quite cool! I feel compelled to sneak into their facility and check out the molds, lol. I do wonder if they are going to produce some of the big'uns like the Land Ironclad, or if those will just be dropped as too problematic. |

@Mr Elmo, hilarious! Dark sarcasm is my middle name! |

The worst part of the rules were the Starter Rules in the boxed set. They were supposed to be the hook for people who bought the game as an impulse buy(like me), and they were simply unplayable, as well as incomplete – they didn't have rules for all the miniatures that were in the box. They had one half-baked scenario, and there wasn't even a QRS. So someone buying the box set would have to go to the on-line forum to learn how to play, and they would generally also get a lecture from the forum apologists on how they really needed to immediately buy the $40 USD hardback rule-book, to play with the stuff that they just bought. It may not have changed the overall trajectory of the death of the game, but the rules were a lot bigger factor in it than anyone wants to admit. |

Quick Reference Sheet? In other news – YAY for the AQ miniatures finding a new home. Hopefully the line will prosper and grow under its new champions. Hopefully the AQ stuff won't be so hard to track down "North of the border", as I was only ever able to find one retailer with any stock here in Ontario. |

Contrary to some rumors being circulated, the molds for the figures seem to still exist. link |
nazrat | 20 Jun 2016 6:56 a.m. PST |
I hadn't seen anybody claiming the molds were gone, Scott. Who was saying that? Sometimes it seems like gamers simply THRIVE on dispensing bad news, true or not… |
ScottWashburn | 20 Jun 2016 7:22 a.m. PST |
Nazrat, There was one guy on the forum I linked to who was claiming adamantly that he had verified information that all the molds had been destroyed. He was so obnoxious he got banned from that forum. I think he's over on Dakka Dakka now under another name doing the same thing. He just seemed obsessed with dashing any hope that the game might be revived. |
nazrat | 23 Jun 2016 1:37 p.m. PST |
Ah, I see. Thanks for the info. I've never understood some gamers' propensity for glorying in and spreading bad news. Even if it is utterly untrue, as in this case. |

*Nazrat.. I chock it up to "small minded people, that are Desperate for their 15 min of fame." It will be interesting to see if this gets up and running again and where it goes next. Personal thought, but I think the huge Land Ironclad, was really over stretching it. I may be completely wrong, but I just cant see any company being able to sell enough of a single model costing $200 USD to make it worth the investment to the company. But I did so love the WW I style steam tanks, they rocked, as did the Martian walkers. Totally cool. Man I hope this works out for them. |
nazrat | 28 Jun 2016 9:08 a.m. PST |
I agree. Although the Land Ironclad was cool it had very limited use in the game. I never bought one and saw no need for it in any way-- there was more than enough variety in the regular line of models to make for really fun and exciting games (which we are still playing). |
ScottWashburn | 28 Jun 2016 12:24 p.m. PST |
I've got an unbuilt ironclad which I will eventually get done. It will have uses in really big games. I could also see it being very cool as an objective in a game {Rescue the disabled ironclad before the Martians can get it). |
