"Based on Bernard Cornwell's novels The Lords of the North and Sword Song, and set in the year 878, the 2nd series returns as fearless and instinctive warrior Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon) continues his fight for his native land of Northumbria. Uhtred, having given his sword to King Alfred (David Dawson), despite his upbringing by the invading pagan Danes, embarks on his voyage north to reclaim his own fate: recapture his ancestral lands of Bebbanburg. Alfred's conviction to create a united England is stronger than ever, and he sets his sights on the wild lands of the north, which have fallen into chaos and rebellion. It is a dangerous time for Saxon and Dane alike, but Alfred champions a new king – a Christian Dane – to unite the tribes. However, this king has been enslaved, and Uhtred becomes embroiled in a rescue mission, which brings him face to face with an enemy of old. Emily Cox, Ian Hart and Tobias Santelmann return again joined by new cast members Thure Lindhardt, Millie Brady, Peter McDonald and Richard Rankin." I enjoyed the first season, although none of the actors looked remotely the way I pictured them from the books. This was especially true of Uthred, as I never pictured him looking moist. Never cared for Alfred. Since it has been a while since I read the early books, I had forgotten some of the earlier details. |

I'm with Sir Walter. My judgement is from the clip as I have not seen the series. Uhtred looks a bit too "pretty" as if they somehow assembled him out of the spare parts of Orlando Bloom. Speaking of "not seeing it" how does one see it in the USA? |

Is this on Netflix, if I watch it I pray to god he has no resemblance to David Hemmings. Does he look like a grown up Alfred of King Aegbeart in Vikings? |
