Hi all,
The North Devon Wanderers (Devon Wargames Group when on tour) played out a large Zulu set too this weekend loosely based on the Battle of Nyezane.

Much fun was had, with a few twists during the game, so if you would like to see how things played then just follow the link to JJ's

Lovely stuff! And very interesting take on how to play Nyezane with Impi's moving along off table edges! I'll be trying this with my 15mm!

Thanks DG, it certainly added a level of uncertainty for the British players – and added to the fun

Enjoyed that reads and looks like an excellent game.

Spectacular looking game! Stunning collection of figures there! Looked a hard fought game that had the potential to deliver a devastating defeat to the Imperial forces!

Well photographed and superb accompanying AAR!

I second "GoodOldRebel"; It looked amazing, what a table! The DWG really did great, and I loved the AAR.

Now maybe its the eyes or the massive numbers but was this done with 15's or 28's? Im thinking 15, but an area so large, 28's would have been possible.

Thanks most of all for so many great pics, it really brought the action to life.

Thanks for the comments chaps.

The game is 28mm. Glad you enjoyed the AAR.

Great looking game! I love doing Nyezane you get a lot of "what if" material(that battle could have turned out a lot different than it did) and a few of the more colorful British irregulars on the table

carojon
The game is 28mm.
DOH! That was my first thought, but I figured, "No, that would be too good to be true." I love 28's, despite the fact it shows every 'shaky-hand' slip I make.

Carojon,
Im guessing most or all of the figures are WL games?
Their Zulu's are great, but IIRC the 'cowtails' on the legs were actually more for ceremonial dress rather than daily or war. They look as if they walked right "off the screen" of Zulu (one of my fav films). Bravo.
O have to wonder. "Why oh why dont they make British Lancers or a Naval brigade detachment in Plastic?!"

btw, where did you get the wagons, or did a member make them?
Thanks again for the 'tons' of pics and the gret BatRep.
