Somebody remind me of where these are. New Hampshire springs to mind.

Are you thinking of Minutemen Toy Soldiers? They are in Massachusetts. mmtoysoldiers.com

Minutemen's cousin lives in NH. ;)

Are those considered inexpensive?

I have to ask. The cheapest? That is daft……

Will you paint them?

How long will you take to paint them?

Do you care that badly moulded figures are harder to paint to any reasonable standard than the best quality….?

Finally, what is your life worth in dollars, pounds, Euros etc per hour, vs the time you will take to paint them?

Your biggest investment (for plastics anyway) will be your time, the paints, the basing. Do not ask questions like this and penny pinch.

If you really are not bothered about quality of figures (perfectly reasonable…….why not?) play PC games.

Have I misunderstood? I tend to do that. Are you asking where can I get the best deals on any range in plastics in this scale?

If you are…bet you end up with Chinese copies as blobs of plastic.

Support the makers. They are not making a mint

Apologies if I have totally missed the point. This was indeed enigmatic…almost Bletchley Park level!

Pretty judgmental, deadhead. For some, cost is a primary concern, while time is of little consequence. The OP also said nothing about not being bothered by quality or wanting badly molded figures, but you are willing to banish him to PC land because his vision of playing with toy soldiers may be different than your vision of playing with toy soldiers. Seriously?

Guys, I have some of Bill's (Widowson's) figures in my collection – the man is a genius with 1/72, both painting and converting. So don't judge too quickly.

It was an enigmatic post, so I will be interested when Bill returns to it

Hafen von Schlockenberg03 Jun 2016 5:17 a.m. PST

But…was it…really…he?

According to his profile,"he" hasn't made a post since--2013!

(Cue eerie music!)

But then my last post is July 2015 according to the details just now. Spooky indeed grin

Widowson06 Jun 2016 2:47 p.m. PST

Sorry I've been away. And thanks, Marc, for the kind sentiments.

All – I'm looking to pick up some figs, which I always have to do via internet. Specifically, Zvezda and HaT figs. Seems to me that someone once suggested a mail order place in NH that worked out well, but I can't recall the name of the place. Other suggestions welcomed, as well.

Widowson06 Jun 2016 2:51 p.m. PST

Looks like Scale Hobbiest was it. Thanks Sevastopol.

Sevastopol06 Jun 2016 5:47 p.m. PST

Glad to help. Have ordered quite a bit of stuff from them over the years.

Widowson07 Jun 2016 1:18 p.m. PST

Well, damn. Scale Hobbiest has no Napoleonic Zvezda. Looks like it'll have to be Minutemen.
