Hi guys, looking for a comparison sidewise between AWI plastics by Warlord Games, Wargames Factory, and Perry Miniatures. Does anyone have comparison photos? Any help would be appreciated, I did order a box of each Warlord Games plastic box during their 20% off sale. |

I would like to put together a few more Achaemenid Persian units in 25/28mm c.500 BC. What are some of the manufacturers that are recommended? I did some of the OG and am looking for other alternatives. I also would like to find some of the figure 8 shields similar to those that are depicted on the Susa images of the Persian Immortals. Can anyone recommend a source for these as well? Thanks in advance, Kyle |

Wargames Foundry have a range in their Casting Room subsidiary. They aren't bad, pricey though. Some nice Saleh sculpts amongst the infantry, and Immortals too. They have an old smaller range, too. 1st Corps do too, smaller minis, but I don't have any. North Star have some Persians as well. |

I like the metals from Sgt major miniatures… the old Vendol range. |

I have a feeling they aren't in production any more. |

The OG Persians fit well with some Foundry figures I have (some Greeks), but they're a little small compared to the more modern plastic Wargames Factory range (if that's even still available anywhere). I can't speak to the other ranges mentioned here, other than to say those Vendol figures look nice, and now I want to spend some money…. |

How does a thread started on American War of Independence become a comparison on Hellenistic figures? |

I have a pretty huge 28mm Persian army and it has Foundry, 1st Corps, Newline (now SHQ) and Old Glory among them. They all seem to work well together. There are also some Vendel figures but are larger(chunkier, really) than the others listed so might fit the more modern plastic ranges. |

Freaking bizarre. Talk about high jacking a post. You guys do know AWI stands for American War of Independence? This is a post in the 18th century. TMP classic behaviour. |

… its the TMP bug; the heading is "Early Achaemenid Persians in 25/28mm" Topic. |

GGouveia: I don't know how this happened but I did not "high jack" your posting! I posted this to the Ancients forum and I was wondering why yours was included. No disrespect was intended. |

Foundry has two different sizes of Persians, someone else may know better than me, but I think one set was sculpted by Salahi which are bigger than the older ones done by someone else, they don't mix well. The Sgt. Major Vendel Persians are a little on the blocky side and don't really mix with Foundry, the Cv do a bit but the foot and rider figures are blocky with no necks for example. Have not seen the war games factory plastics in person myself. |

@GGouveia – this is a "classic" TMP bug…not your fault and not ours… |
