Dear All, On the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Jutland, let us spare a thought for those gallant seamen of both the Grand Fleet and the High Seas Fleet who did not return:
Brave men that go down to the sea in ships… that do business in great waters; These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep. 'Absent Friends' 'Die Gefallenen' |

We are honoring them with a re-fight. Truly gallant men. 1000s died in seconds. |

There are no roses on a sailor's grave, No lilies on an ocean wave, The only tribute is the seagull's sweeps, And the teardrop that a sweetheart weeps. |

Just watched the memorial service from St Magnus' Cathedral, Orkney. By far the best and moving cover of the event so far. |

Thank you to Yellow Admiral for attending Enfilade Convention over the weekend and running a Jutland scenario to commemorate the battle. Well attended and received. |

News site I normally use, has 3 days set on Jutland. First, an introduction to dreadnaugnts, 2d – description of the battle, and today there's a nice set of German postcards on the ir fleet and Jutland…hope they'll have the same for Grand fleet. RIP all brave sailors. link |
