I have previously watched the first episode on Youtube which did not have really good sound quality.

Good: the two recent 'JJA' offerings need swamping.

Or smothered at birth…

Although (having just watched the STC Episode 6) I think the latest one is probably the weakest of the half dozen they've made, it was still much more true to the original Trek than anything produced by Paramount in the last two decades.
