wargamesminis.com Are they leaving the hobby?

TMP manufactures list says it was last checked May 20, 2016 but the only link is to their Baueda range which almost entirely sold out.

Yes, they've been selling down stock for a few years now…

I fondly recall the old days when Johnson Hood and his family ran it…. First class operation for all things Essex!

Yes, huge number of tables at Historicon. It was nice to be able to SEE the stuff before you bought

I thought they went out of business years ago.

Yes, I enjoyed digging through vast quantities of product at the cons. I was sad to see their displays become stagnant and then smaller and smaller. They were always nice folks to talk with.

Bought a big chunk of their remaining Essex ancients a year and a half ago.

About half retail.

Of course as some were odd packs I need to buy some others to fill in the armies…

Didn't it get purchased and then run into the ground several years ago? I know I still see the previous owner working the Eureka USA booth whenever I go to HMGS conventions and I seem to recall him expressing great anger over how his business was treated after he sold it. Too bad. It was one of my favorite places to shop.

I remember when they carried Dixon Miniatures. I bought a lot of the ACW from them.

snurl127 May 2016 11:28 p.m. PST

So did I. Never passed their tables without buying something.

Wargames at the East cons was a little slice of heaven. I used to go down to the dealers area after I was done selling in the flea market with a pocketful of cash and my list. I would pull up one of those chairs and leisurely sort through the figures with my list for an hour or two. I would then go up to Ed with a huge pile of minis and tell him I was going to pay for his table for him.

Yep they used to sell Veni Vidi Vici decals back in the day. When the new owners took over they decided not to continue with it. I think they tried selling the old stock off cheap.
