…Trucks In Libya. "Evidence has emerged that British special forces have engaged in frontline combat against violent jihadists in Libya for the first time, destroying an Islamic State vehicle packed with explosives. It follows reports earlier this year that elite commandos – including the SAS – were in Libya advising local forces in the fight against Isil. Mohammed Durat, a commander of troops in Misrata, told The Times: "My unit works just with English. I have met with them personally and they have destroyed two suicide vehicles that were targeting my fighters."…" Full article here link It looks like Western intervention in Libya is about to step up …. Thin end of the wedge perhaps. When will the Royal Navy, Royal Marine Commandos and paratroopers be sent, I wonder? Cheers. Rod Robertson |

Royal Navy is being sent. But hardly the thin end of the wedge. Specfor have always been treated as being 'different' to line troops. I'm rather the SAS were doing this than handing out weapons for the locals to have a go. |

The Royal Navy has been operating off Libya for several years now. The recent announcement was for a second ship, though there have been two ships present at various points in the recent past. |
