To Bill and whomever creates the daily historical "on this day" banners: I just want you to know how much I like and appreciate these things! I have not heard of many of the battles or operations that pop-up and enjoy looking the up. Yesterday is a perfect example: I had never heard of the battle of Eccles Hill in 1870, nor the Fenians or their attempts at raiding into Canada so I spent an hour down the rabbit hole chasing all the who-what-whys of the incident, and ended up watching last years Irish Hurling championship game as well as reading about Scottish Shinty and the little game played on the Isle of Mann, which then led me to the Island Kingdom and other Viking governments in the UK… Time well spent to my mind. I love learning, even esoteric historical trivia. Anywho, please keep it coming! I think it's great stuff! |

I concur; I always appreciate the headers on historical battles/campaigns, as well as the silly stuff-Abe Lincoln vs. Charles Darwin springs to mind. I too had never heard of Eccles Hill, although I had vaguely heard of the Fenian Raids into Canada. Probably why I like historical gaming so much-the "fluff" is so fascinating! |

All thanks can be directed to Wyatt the Odd. We haven't added more in a while, I think he is quite busy now. |
