I found some Rospak hoplites in a drawer. Only 35 years old !
Do I use them ? Or sell them and use the proceeds to buy better-detailed 'modern' figures. But their style is actually quite appealing and easy to paint. Votes either way ?

Yeah – use them!

I waited for the range to expand…and then it didn't…and I couldn't get them !

Always thought they looked really nice.

Use them, they're pretty decent sculpts for 35 year old models.

Never heard of them. What is the background story on them?

Tarleton26 May 2016 1:47 a.m. PST

They came out inn the 80's if I remember right. I remember plassieviking buying some and painting them up. Greek hoplites, advancing with separate arms and standing, both with separate shields, peltasts, some greek light cavalry. I can't remember if they'd moved on to Republican Romans before they disappeared? They were mostly nice sculpts and cheaper than metal figures at the time.

If I remember right, it was a long time ago, they were bought out by one of the metal manufacturers and consigned to deep storage!!

They'd moved on to Imperial Romans, but not Republicans according to link

Get new ones … The investment in miniatures is the time to paint them. If you are going to paint 150 hoplites, don't you want the best?

If you can get a good enough price you could sell them and buy new figures. My view is that it is more of a hassle to go through the sale and buying new ones. If you like them why dump them?
