How do the Warlord ancients plastic minis stand up against the Victrix minis in regards to height/compatability? |

I don't have extensive experience with either range, but the Victrix plastic Legions of the Republic seem to scale perfectly with the Warlord Caesarian Legions to the point where parts are basically interchangeable. The Victrix ones are a little taller on the whole, but only because of pose. Heads, arms etc. are all pretty much the same size. On the other hand the Victrix Balearic slingers tower over the Warlord metal slingers and are I think a little bigger even than the Warlord legionaries. So it seems to be a little hit and miss across the ranges. |

Deuce03 is well on point, I think. It also depends on which ranges; Warlord Imperial ROmans are much smaller than their Caesarian Romans that Deuce compares above. The Victrix Early IMperial Romans, when they arrive, are likely to tower over Warlord's EIR's. It seems that Warlord increased their size after the initial EIR release, and everything else following has been about the same (as far as I can tell). I also have some of Victrix's greeks (skirmishers and archers) and I'd say they're almost the exact size of Warlord's Caesarean Romans, though it's harder to judge since the latter are bulked out in mail. Very close though. |

Much appreciated. Want to use the Warlord Casearians with the Victrix everything else…. Cheers Darren |

Skeptic, I'm not sure about the average WF legionnaire, but I did mix in the WF command elements clad in their furs with WG legionnaires, and it's only when I scrutinize very closely that I can tell that the WF guys is of slighter build than the Warlord legionnaires. I'll try to find one to WF legionnaires to compare, but I'm pretty sure he'll be a bit leaner and slightly smaller. The WG ones have much better detail and are easier to assemble. |

Here's a picture of the bodies (without arms or heads) next to each other which might help judge scale. From left to right: Wargames Factory Caesar's Legions; Warlord Games Caesarian legionary; Victrix Legions of the Republic (I) legionary; Victrix Balearic slinger

Looking at that now I see the Balearic slinger is slightly further forward than the others, which doesn't help the impression of size – whoops! That body is actually pretty much the same size as the Victrix legionary, maybe 1mm taller. The Wargames Factory dude is smaller than the others, but this is exaggerated by the lower base, the hunched pose and the lack of neck. It's worth noting though if you're considering buying a lot of them that the level of detail is noticeably lower than on either the Victrix or Warlord legionaries. You'd always be able to pick the Wargames Factory legionary out of a line-up, even if he were the same size. |

I've seen online what appear to be Victrix EIR comparing well with Warlord Britons/Celts in size. Whereas the Warlord EIR are smaller than the Victrix EIR, it looks like the Warlord Celts match up really well with Victrix EIR. Anyone with a better opinion on that? |

The Warlord EIR are small compared to most companies and in fact small compared to their other ancient ranges, I have lots of warlords Celts/Dacians and they are a better fit to Victrix.Although all the Warlord barbarian figures have over elaborate poses which nicely hide any size discrepancies. |
