The discussion about GW needing to update the buggy kit is old and tired. Was wondering if anyone has used the Airfix 1/48 landrovers as buggies?
or supacats

Well you will have to do some cutting/conversions but yes these would work. 1/35th scale would work as well. |

This kinda gives the idea of the scale for supacat. When I get to the point of putting together a buggy mob, this might be at the top of the list for countz az / proxies. But it does look on the small side, even for buggies.

If using the supacat, the suspension is slightly fragile I found, so it might need strengthening as a wargames piece. |

I think 1:48 might be too small for 40k-like Orks. Give them to the Grotz. |

I've got some of the Airfix Herrick stuff I intend to make for use with Forgeworld Elysians. The 1/48 figures are within human variation of matching the Elysians if I remember correctly. |

I have a couple of 1/48 figures with a dingo scout car, and they are tiny compared to Orks, so a 1/35 scale will be the way to go. |

Most of the GW Ork vehicle kits are small when compared to the number of models they're supposed to carry. While a big impressive wagon looks big and impressive on the table, it's a real pain to try to maneuver and good luck trying to find terrain to use to hide behind. Try mixing scales with larger and smaller vehicles. A 1/35 dingo scout car or brenn carrier could be a good base and so can a 1/48 Sd.Kfz.8 s. Zgkw. 12t link As long as there are no hatches or anything else left on the model to indicate scale, you can cannibalize 1/72 models and make some grot tanks or tracks too. |
