A couple years ago now, the cast and crew of worldWorksGames jumped off to make a game for the Oculus Rift headset, leaving the store running but making no more models, and answering no inquiries.

Their forum was left to the (AFAIK) unpaid moderators, and traffic slowly dwindled as it became clear that WWG had given up all on production and refused all contact about their modeling business.

A couple days ago, even that tiny community had died, it looks like WWG stopped paying their ISP to support the Forum pages (though the zombie store staggers on)…

RIP, wwg, what a stupid ending. Denny, if ever you read this, I am disappoint. LAMEST possible conclusion.

Is that what happened? As one of those unpaid moderators, I logged in Monday and the forum was gone. It frequently disappears on Tuesdays and reappears Thursdays, but Monday was a different error and it is still not up.

Very sad. I love the WWG products, I still use them daily. But going out with this wimper was disappointing at best.

Yeah I was rabid fan back in the day. Just how things go I suppose.

It's a guess, punkrabbit, based on it happening at least once before. I'd be happy to be wrong. If I thought it would help I go bitch about it on the Clodhead site but I doubt Denny would do anything to fix it… :(

So that's what happened to them! I had wondered about why things seemed so dormant over there.

So I guess it's time to order anything I've had an eye on… Will take a day or so to figure it out, as I'm not sure what I already have, which has been a mix of Wargames Vault and direct orders over the years.

I always wondered what other project the WWG crew jumped into. They are excellent model and texture artists, so it's a shame that there are no new products. There is so much more they could add to their existing papercraft products, and some of us posted lots of wishlists for various settings on the WWG forum. I would like to add to the several WWG products I bought.

I understand that they need to make a living, but it's sad that the cardstock modeling market does not seem to get some of their attention. Thank you for the update.

I really liked their Firstlight spaceship project. Lots of fun! I bought their other spaceship kits, but would have loved more along the lines of the Firstlight. Here is mine in action:

Sad… I bought his first product, CastleWorks Classic. I've been considering building more pieces of it, only using 2mm thick cardboard for backing, to make them extremely durable. Bought his OOP set for Skull Cove tropical island set -- it featured a wooden palisade building set; using it to make a 3D model of the Steading of the Hill Giant Chief, for a BattleSystem Skirmishes game, I hope to run at Gary Con, in 2017. I will be running my first playtest game for it, this Sunday. I was planning to post pictures up on the WWG forum… Very disappointing. Seems like Denny and crew just abandoned their ship -- not what I would call, honorable. Cheers!
