One of the red is labelled ASAHI and one of the blue is labelled PERESVIET so I assume it is game pieces for the Russo-Japanese War, but I have never seen or heard of a game with metal pieces like this.

They look rather similar to Houstons ships. I have no idea if that is what they actually are however.
Here is a link to Houstons ships.

Some of Navwar's stuff perhaps????

Captain Gideon23 May 2016 2:03 p.m. PST

Allen57 you right on the money they are indeed Navwar 1/3000th scale I have several of those ships Russian's mostly.

They're not perfect but they do paint up well.

I agree they're probably Navwar 1/3000 castings.

I doubt they are Navwar. They have individual barrels in the turrets and, frankly, the detailing is better than Navwar.

They are Viking Forge. Look at the Borodino here thevikingforge.net/3055.html and compare it to this tinyurl.com/jxvwptr
Borodino is the bottom right model in the photo, go to the large image

dragon6 you're right and I was in error the Viking Forge minis are similar to the Navwar minis and I didn't look close enough at the turrets.

Bingo. Viking Forge. Good spotting, sir.

The new Tumbling dice 1/2400 R+J are very much better than these and if you are starting fresh I would suggest you look at these

I'd love to look at them! If only I could find some photos….

All the ships are of a similar quality.

Tumbling Dice aimed to provide good detail at a sensible price without the cost or fragility of GHQ.

Having GHQ WW1/WW2 ships as well I think they succeeded.

Kabrank, I'm doing the pre-dreads in 1/1250 scale, but just didn't recognized these models.

Thanks all for the aid in identifying.

Bill

Nice to have the space for the larger scale as they must look most excellent

I am waiting for a 2" hex drape from HOTZ and will take some photos when it arrives. I am of course shrinking scale, but the ranges are short enough pre-1905 to make that still look reasonable.
