Okay, here we go! The packs are split up along the lines of the 1977 and 2004 versions (which I dubbed Early War and Late War). There is also a heavy fighter pack, and I'm planning on putting together a ragtag refugee fleet for the two sides to fight over.

First up, the original/classic/Early War fleets:

Next, the new/updated/Late War fleets:

And now, the heavy fighters, which are available in a separate pack:

I'll be putting together a ragtag refugee fleet in a day or two to give these fleets something to fight over.

Thanks!

Are the fighters cast onto the bases?

Mako1122 May 2016 7:09 p.m. PST

Those look really cool.

May I suggest 3 x early Cylon fighters to a base, in vic formation, like in the TV series?

I suspect some others might like them arrayed like that as well.

@Bill: Yes, they are one-piece units. Otherwise, the fighters would be too small to print.

@Mako11: I wish I could, but the only way I could do that would be to make the bases larger, and I'm trying to keep the bases consistent in size.

Mako1122 May 2016 7:25 p.m. PST

Yea, figured that might be the issue.

Thanks for listening.

Can the models be made in FUD ?

Daricles22 May 2016 9:07 p.m. PST

Those look very nice. What size are the models? Are you going to do any late war Mk IIs or do the early war versions represent them?

It would be nice if you could offer the fighters one per base as well as two per base.

Well, looks like my first actual order through Shapeways is coming up now.

@jimklein1966: Yeah, they should all be printable in FUD.

@Daricles: Here is a comparison photo with a US quarter, British pound coin, and euro 1-cent coin:

As for variants on the Vipers, at this scale the differences would be almost indistinguishable.

Allen5723 May 2016 7:32 a.m. PST

I have a bunch of the other microfleets. They are great. Truly fleet scale. Will wait til the refugee fleet and then order the lot.

Thanks Jav. Any other microfleets in the pipeline?

Someone asked for BFG-style ships, so I might give those a shot. I've never played BFG, so I'll have to find a good reference for ship classes and whatnot.

Other than that, I'm open to suggestions!

And now, the Ragtag Fleet:

I like the option of one/two/three fighter bases, though a base with square divot for tiny die is another direction.

However, as you're casting them in one piece anyway, you might look at sculpting the 'vic' with fighters overlaying their neighbors.

Oh, right… I hadn't even thought of that! Let me play around a bit with that concept and see what I can do with it. Thanks, Doug!

Nice!!!!

billthecat25 May 2016 11:55 a.m. PST

Any rules suggestions?

@billthecat: My personal preference is Starmada, but there's also the granddaddy -- Star Fleet Battles.

Oh, right… I hadn't even thought of that!

Yeah, I'm dangerous like that. ;->=

They look great, but if Im reading that correct the "base" is only 12mm (1/2 in.)

*Javelin98, it would be 'really' helpful if you could take a few min. and post the basic dimensions of the ships themselves, rather than the over all sprue measurments.

Personal logo javelin98 Supporting Member of TMP09 Jun 2016 2:34 p.m. PST

I can certainly do that, but in the meantime, here's a comparison shot with a US quarter, British Pound coin, and Euro penny.

I was curious if you ever expanded this 'series'?
Other military support ships? For Ex. Battleships w/out launch bays.

I was surprised to see the Capital ships are smaller than a quarter. They are MICRO fleet. If the detail came out even close to the digital image, Kudo's sir!

All in all pretty good game. Did you ever take a 'run' at doing BFG?

Part time gamer03 May 2019 11:59 p.m. PST

IIRC, 'someone' not long ago (in 2018?) posted their Painted BSG Microfleet mini's.
However I cant find them. By chance does anyone know who that might have been or someone that has painted their own and has posted photos?

From *Javelin 98's size post above, I'd say its pretty clear that the Battlestars themselves are =/< the us quarter.
I'd still love to see some painted, to get a more accurate idea of the size.
Thanks.

Excellent work Jav !

Javelin
Are you still producing the BSG series?
Ive tried connecting w/ you a couple times in "conversation" on Shapeways, but have heard nothing for almost 2 wks.

It was regarding 'Upscaling your BSG Toaster Wars' ships. In this case, the Early War.
I can appreciate 'life' gets in the way at times.
