I need a bunch of flags for all the ships I've recently painted. Where's a good source for scale appropriate flags?

<sigh> Well, good to see that the bug lives on…

I make my own. I find the flag I want online and save it. Then I use a program called Inverted Image (I think it was free) that allows you to create an image of both sides of a flag. I print to the desired size, fold down the middle, and then glue each side around the flagpole. If you let the ink set, and then use a limited amount of glue (such as matte Modge Podge), you get a nice seal on the flag and can manipulate it so that it dries with a nice fold or two. The only two caveats are that the Inverted Image program will not work (as far as I can tell) on flags where each side is different, and the cut out flag can be white along the top (I solve this with a little colored pencil – ink can run when you add the glue).

There are many free flags at warflag.com most have the double-sided, foldable type that mwindsorfw mentions.

I download from Wikipedia (a good source of flags) and then make as described above but using Powerpoint

You can also use any word processor program, such as MSWord, and the photo insert function. That's how I make mine.

If you join the Ironclads Yahoo Group, there are flags in the Files section to download.
