Some things are good, some are bad. Some are bought, a lot is home-made. Enjoy…

What's not to like? I especially like the more sculpted hedges. How did you do them? I also like the little touches, like the wood pile and clothes line, that go a long way toward making it more "lived-in." The only thing that detracts a little is the American flag that looks a bit out of place.

I make 2 sorts of hedges: the easy ones are simply moss from the forest that you glue on cardboard. This kind of moss keeps its colour (and you can find them everywhere in the forests in Belgium) The other ones are made of blue styrofoam which is first put into shape with a knife, painted brown and then you flock them with the colour you want. End it with a varnish spray to keep it well together.
Not to like are the miniatures compared to most of the miniatures you see on tmp.
And yes the American flag looks a little bit strange but is great when you play the game to have an overview of the conquered objective markers. Thanks for your reply, Greetings Bert

This looks great Bert.

We would sure love to have someone like you in our wargames circle. I am hopeless at scenery.

I live in Belgium too but I never thought to collect moss in the forests.

"Moss in the forest" that you "can find everywhere" gave me a chuckle, since we have neither forests or rampant moss in my part of Texas.

I was thinking the same thing. Grayson County is a bit short on forests these days.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments!
Ok for the guys from the States, I have a house near the city of Marche-en-famenne in Belgium. This is in the Ardennes which off course is very well known for ww2 miniature wargamers as being the theater of the battle off the bulge. There are really a lot of forests there and yes moss everywhere! Just a little information: the town I live in (serinchamps) has an old castle which was captured in 1940 by troops of the one and only Erwin Rommel.
If one day you come over to Belgium be sure to grab some moss 😃👍

Great work Bert.
With the risk of sounding like a shameless blog promoter you are more than welcome to pop over to my blog there is a lot of scratch building ideas.

Nice to see another 20mm plastic wargamer.

Thx Greg! I visited your blog in the meantime and yes lots of info there! Thanks I will take some time to look further into it, you have been a busy man!!
I decided to do 1/72 mainly for the availability of models (thanks to PSC but also italeri, revel, heller etc…) and my restricted budget. In the near future I will certainly get some models from AB figures, they are just awesome!
Greetings, Bert
