What color(s) should I use for Spanish stone fences? These appear to be dressed stone blocks topped by unfinished stone laid edge up. These are the Grand Manner walls and I prefer Vallejo paint.

Spanish stone can be as many colors as you like. Gray, buff, reddish brown…

For big terrain pieces like this, may I suggest going to craft paints? Why use premium paints for such large surface areas?

I use tester pots from the local paint store for this sort of work.

I second Flash's suggestion of craft paints. You'll save some money and get just as good results as using the more expensive Vallejo paints. You can get them at any local big box craft store such as Hobby Lobby or Michael's, just to name two.

For craft paints, check your local walmart's craft section first for the colors you want. They tend to be slightly cheaper there than at the craft stores without a coupon.

I use a dark/medium grey, then dry brush with barnwood( kind of greyish brown, then highlite with a sandstone . Comes out pretty good.
