Fellow wargamers, I would like to get some Hesse Darmstadt infantry for my 1812 armies. There are no specific Hessian inf figures in 28 mm that I am aware of, or am I mistaken? I know that by 1812, their uniform looked a bit like that French in appearance but not quite enough to just use French figures. (I did use French for the Gross und Erbprinz regt in the Peninsula for lack of a better alternative). Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome. |

There were 6 line (2 battalions per regiment) and 2 light battalions in 1812. You can use French, they are exactly the same (except the light)but with one addition to them : they all have "battons". You could just paint them on or if you really are a patient person, cut the tiny battons out of paper and just glue them on, wich would give you the depth on the uniforms. Not difficult to do but time consuming. whe are talking about 12 "battons" per figure : 6 full and 6 partials (half hidden under the cross belt front). Victrix or Perry are my recommendation. |
