Partizan 2016 is coming up, on Sunday 22nd May and we've moved venue to the Newark Showground.

But you'd probably heard about that already…

In order to keep things fresh and celebrate the move we've also updated the website, and would welcome constructive feedback and comments to help us improve it further.

You can find it at partizan.org.uk but if you have visited recently you will need to refresh the page if your browser has cached the old version.

Thanks!

Really looking forward to it and seeing the plan adds to the sense of anticipation.

I note on the plan table DG16 is down both as the Hendry Miller game as the star feature but then on the Demo games list they become table DG15 and Caliver books are DG16 and DG17.

It won't make jot of difference to me on the day as I shall find both easily but I'm just mentioning it.

Great to see North Star have big stand and a game. Also like the idea of the 'zones' and think that's something I'd like to see at Salute which is always a bit of a muddle.

Hopefully one day in the future the zones for demo and participation will be equal in size and number of games, or even 2:1 in favour of participation rather than 2:1 in favour of demo! Great to see so many games though, I'm sure it'll be a great success whatever.

Hopefully it won't be either dark or dull …..

This Pavilion is one of the lightest brightest Pavilions you'll ever venture into I promise.

Sorry for temporary loss of service> Our former hosting service, whom we've used for many years, pulled the plug when we gave notice to change hosts.

We're working on getting it all up and running on the new hosting service asap.

Terrible timing, I know… :-(

As a regular visitor to Partizan over the past decade (despite the six-hour round trip), can I say that I thought the new venue was so much better than Kelham it's difficult to put into words. I know the building can "heat up" on a summer day, but late May and early September are good months for sunny-but-cool, and the ability to see the games and what I'm buying without the need of a miner's lamp was priceless.

The quality of games was excellent (lots of participation stuff and the hosts on the demo games had all obviously read the memo on not freezing out nosy punters who ask questions) and the trade stands were well-served. Other than the fire alarm going off and the somewhat unhealthy catering, there was no downside. The only problem I can forsee is how you expand as this show inevitably attracts more people, now you have a decent venue.

There's another, smaller, hall which Hammerhead used for one show before it too went into this George Stephenson building. It's at the rear of where everyone parked outside so not too far away if you fancy a quick stroll :-)

I can't say I noticed actually, despite hanging around several and taking an interest. It might have been that there were actually so many punters taking interest the participants were slightly overwhelmed with all the attention they were receiving.

Great show, the premises make it a far better atmosphere I think to enjoy a show such as this. Pity they couldn't have done the move a few years ago, but now the show has moved it may become even bigger, things like this have a habit of growing to fill the space provided.

Haven't been to Partizan for a number of years – Kelham was too cramped, too dark and it just didn't "work" for me as a Show that I enjoyed.

Went to the new venue and the whole show was absolutely first class ! Good food and not overly expensive for the venue and quality (also lots of seating), HOT WATER in the toilets (I know that should be easy but so often it is not). Spacious airy Hall and the sorting of the various tables (that were not trade tables) in "zones" ("History Zone", "Participation Zone", etc.) was both innovative and made the Show so easy to negotiate.

At this point, since I am raving, I know, I will say tat I am not a member of the Newark Club and, as far as I know, I don't actually know anyone from the Club. I just wanted to say thankyou for an excellent show – will definitely be back next year.
