really, really unbelievable. The vignettes are great, the execution is great. Best I have ever seen.

Truly impressive… but what are the Austrians and Russians doing at Waterloo? :)

I saw the photos from last year's re-enactment so I KNOW the Austrians and Russians were at Waterloo grin

From the website

"History in Miniatures' is an association of modellers and diorama builders dedicated to modelling in 1/72nd scale. For a long time, we have been racking our brains about how to set up a convention of fellow hobbyists from Germany and abroad who share our enthusiam for historic dioramas.

This is why we are organising the Dioramica, which will be a hobby exhibition cum fair focussing on models and dioramas in our favourite scale. Inviting fellow hobbyists, diorama builders and figure sculptors from Germany and abroad we were thrilled to get an enthusiastic response. Moreover, many vendors of historical scale model figures and diorama accessories accepted our invitation to attend.

The Dioramica is supposed to become a forum for the exchange of ideas among people who are as enthusiastic about diorama building as we are. Many of the most beautiful dioramas, large and small, which so far may have been in private collections and presented to the general public on the world wide web only, will be shown for the first time as live exhibits.

Visitors will be able talk to the diorama builders in person. They will learn news about what is in the making and what is planned next diorama- or figurewise. They should be willing to share their own ideas ‒ it is very likely that this will be their best chance to see their dreams of that particular figure or diorama accessory realised, or even, to find a hobby partner to begin a big project that is better tackled by more than one person.

Our museum, with its constant exhibtion of large dioramas, will provide a fitting venue for the First Dioramica. Workshops on diorama building and a diorama competition will be parts of the programme.

Catering will be offered at affordable prices, so visitors may take a break from the exhausting viewing, have a chat with one another and admire their newly aquired miniatures.

Since our museum is on the premises of the ‘Schmucker Jäger' hotel in Hann. Münden we are able to offer accomodation to many of our visitors under the same roof. Hann. Münden is a tourist resort with an historic old town and many attractive sites in and around, so there will be no problem to buy a room. We are very willing to help with finding accomodation.

Since it still is a while until the First Dioramica will open its doors changes in our programme are likely to occur. The roster of participants is still open ‒ maybe some guests will announce themselves on short notice. This is why we recommend to visit this website now and then.. "

Sounds good to me – wish them well. I love what my European cousins do with 1/72, so I imagine (and from the photos I think it will be good) they will do a great "show"
