The website for Guns of August is now active, and accepting both game scheduling and convention registration! We have moved to a new hotel for this year's convention, so we will have more space, and more useful space, while still remaining in Williamsburg. There are going to be several new events this year (more games, more open gaming, more board games, more organized tournament play, RPGs, dealers, hospitality suite upgrade) – but it will still be a great end of summer convention in Williamsburg. See you there! Chuck hamptonroadsgamers.org |

Treants, from Papo: Guardian of the Forest. I paid around $7.50 USD per figure (4 ordered), delivered; the WotC Treant is OOP, and typically sells for $22 USD+, on e-Bay, so for me, this is a very good price! The only thing I don't care for, is the smile on its face -- too much like Groot, from "Guardians of the Galaxy" (I think I can cut some marks downward, on each side of his face, to make it look more like a possible frown -- experimentation will tell…). The size is decent, for a Treant (~4" tall). They do not stand very well on their own, but that does not matter to me, as I will be mounting them on bases anyway, for dual use in both RPG's, and tabletop war games (2nd Ed. BattleSystem requires a square base of a particular size for creatures).
Above is the stock image from Happy Hen Toys' web catalog (where I ordered mine from, they seemed to have the best price). The figures are as pictured, no need to paint, but you may want/need to base them, for better stability. Cheers! |
