With the 111th Anniversary of the Battle of Tsushima coming up at the end of this month I was wondering if anyone has any plans to do Tsushima.

And if so what rules and scale of ships will be used.

Yes. At one of our big conventions last weekend although we call them 'shows'.

If you look closely you'll see both a Russo-Japanese naval game and also a Jutland.

I'm sure I can find a few better pictures if you give me a chance.

Thanks for the pictures and links.

The 1/600th looks very impressive I must say.

I have a few 1/1250th scale Japanese and Russian minis now the Japanese are from Navis while the Russian's are from Mercator.

I also have both Fleets in 1/3000th scale and this is the scale that I do Pre-Dreadnought games.

I also have a small but good selection of books on the subject in English,Russian and Japanese.

Sadly I don't speak or read Japanese or Russian but the pictures/drawings are very good.

For myself it's my favorite Naval period.

We have played a nice Russo-Japanese War campaign and lots of pick up battles. We fought the Battle of the Yellow Sea several times but not Tsushima. lately I have been focused on the 100 Jutland.

I think I'll be doing Tsushima here (111th anniversary – the "Nelson" in cricketing terms), then Jutland 100th in Portsmouth on the 31st, and Lissa 150th on Lissa (Viz) island on July 20th :)

Larry Bond's "Fear God & Dreadnought" (1904-05 supplement) and 1/1250 ships. Japanese are Navis and Russians Mercator.

A handful of participants locally…

Shagnasty in your Yellow Sea Battle who won?

For myself and friends we've played Yellow Sea with the Russian's winning a overwhelming victory the rules we used were Fire When Ready by David Manley.

We've also done Tsushima at least twice with varied results.

Just finished running an RJW campaign with a few tweaks to give the Russians a better chance.

The IJN cleaned the original Russian Pacific forces clock but letting them have all 5 Borodinos for Tsushima made that work better for the Baltic lads.

McKinstry when you say that the IJN cleaned Russian Pacific Fleet I'm curious as to how since the Russian Pacific Fleet had the better ships and the crews had more training than the Baltic Fleet so I'd like to know how badly the Russian Pacific Fleet got beaten.

Also what rules were you using?

BTW how did the Baltic Fleet do against the Japanese?

Besides the Slava were there any other ships you gave to the Russians?
